Atoms Last MRLL Baseball Academy
Atom’s last day at the Murphy Ranch Little League baseball academy was a great one. His hitting was awesome. Almost hit it out of the fence. The day ended with Q and A session with the coaches and some autographs.
Caltech visit – First of the year
Our trips to Caltech typically include a visit to the bookstore and a stroll around the campus. This visit was to see the ArcAttack show in Beckman hall. After the show Marie and Atom take some time to strike a pose at the usual spot.

Atom’s first scholarship
Congratulations Atom on your first scholarship award, for $200 dollars!! He received the scholarship for completing the Speech and Debate after school program.
You can’t win them all – Spelling Bee results
Unfortunately this year’s spelling bee did not end in Atom or Marie’s favor. Atom did not place but received the spelling bee medal for participation. Marie got third place and came home with a third place trophy.
Marie got eliminated with the word “oxygen” where she missed the letter “y”
Atom was eliminated with the word “arranged” where he missed the second “r”.
Although they did feel down after school they are looking forward to next year!
Spelling Bee minutes away
The 2014 PCS spelling bee is about 20 minutes away. We’re super nervous for the kids. We had a good breakfast at Denny’s. Jackie and I have front row seats. Good luck Marie and Atom!!!!
